What is a 'cozy boardgame'?
A cozy boardgame is one that brings you comfort and joy, they can be puzzly, tricky, and push you to think differently, or they can be simple and chill. They should not make you feel under attack, uncomfortable or have high levels of conflict.
Cozy boardgames are not easy! Cozy hobbies have existed for decades- knitting, art, crafting, reading, cake baking and decorating - none of these hobbies are considered easy, and there are many levels of skill in them. However, they are a safe space for people to thrive and push themselves without fear of being made to feel judged.
So I think if a game makes me feel like I have just finished a painting, completed a complex knitting pattern or problem solved my way to a less wonky cake then it's cozy!
Of course you are free to decide on your own what makes a cozy game.
