Description provided by Old Crappy Couch on YouTube:

Let’s talk about Scrabble – the ultimate word game! Scrabble was originally invented in 1931 by Alfred Butts, who first called it Lexiko, then Criss Cross Words. It wasn’t until 1948 that James Brunot acquired the rights and revised the game into what we now know as Scrabble. After a rough start, Scrabble finally hit the big time in 1952 when Macy’s put it on their shelves, and by 1953 it had become a household name! Today, we’re taking a close look at a beautiful 1953 edition of Scrabble and comparing it to the 2021 Hasbro version. What’s changed? What stayed the same? And is the classic version still the best? 🧠 Let’s find out if the old-school Scrabble tiles still spell victory… or if modern Hasbro updates win the game! 📌 Subscribe for more reviews like this! https://www.youtube.com/@OldCrappyCouch?sub_confirmation=1 🎲 Get your copy of Scrabble (2021): https://amzn.to/43NGePu 🎤 Gear I use (like the DJI Mic 2): https://amzn.to/49NVKMo 🛋️ Become a Couch Potato and unlock exclusive content: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHa40rX1psb_WZZf9gagZ_g/join 📺 More Retro Board Game Reviews: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIF7NIZX3RTo4PlObIh0z54wh2_kA1EBH ⏱️ Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 0:58 Game Boxes 8:56 Game Boards & Tiles 26:43 Rule Books 29:40 Travel Scrabble Sorry Retro Board Game Review: https://youtu.be/6aarBr9v46U Operation Retro Board Game Review: https://youtu.be/mx2yP3kBAGg Weapons & Warriors Game Play & Battle Report: https://youtu.be/Jidg7u7eyow Cootie Retro Board Game Review: https://youtu.be/s9gTVZxZu7w 13 Dead End Drive Retro Board Game Review 1993 vs. 2023: https://youtu.be/HRBCxm7oS90 Tickle Bee Retro Board Game Review: https://youtu.be/70lDx4UHFps How to Play Roulette - Proshine Roulette Wheel Review: https://youtu.be/6IY7ODbChl8 As an Amazon Associate, I earn a small commission from qualifying sales.
