Wheel of Time: War of the Dragon Preview | Epic Battles, Heroes & The Last Battle

Description provided by GAMINGTREND Tabletop on YouTube:

The Wheel turns once more. Today we're taking a look at War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time from Dire Wolf, a new strategy game based on Robert Jordan's legendary fantasy series. In this preview, we're focusing on Epic Mode, where players command the forces of Light and Shadow, develop heroes, free the Forsaken, battle across the Westlands, and prepare for the Last Battle itself. After getting a chance to see the game in action, I was impressed by just how thematic the experience felt. From hero progression and corruption spreading across the map to the dedicated battle system and event-driven objectives, the game does an excellent job capturing the struggle between the Light and the Shadow. Join me as we take a look at some of my favorite aspects of the Epic Mode experience. 0:00 — Opening & The Wheel of Time 0:28 — Game Overview: War of the Dragon 0:50 — Heroic vs Epic Mode 1:48 — Light vs Shadow: Asymmetric Factions 2:12 — Epic Mode & The Prologue Battle 2:51 — How Battles Work 3:47 — Turn Structure & Core Actions 4:52 — Action System Evolution 5:28 — Event Deck & The Capstone Race 7:07 — Final Thoughts & Preview Verdict BGG: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/470548/war-of-the-dragon-the-wheel-of-time Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/direwolfdigital/war-of-the-dragon-the-wheel-of-time?ref=dwg71c http://warofthedragon.com #WheelOfTime #WarOfTheDragon #BoardGames #TabletopGaming #direwolf Subscribe for more gaming and gaming culture content: 🔴 https://www.youtube.com/@GAMINGTRENDTabletop Need more? 🌐 Head on over to https://gamingtrend.com 📈 Subscribe to our weekly round-up newsletters: https://gamingtrend.com/#/portal/signup/free Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/gamingtrend.com Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/gamingtrend Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GamingTrend/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/therealgamingtrend/ Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/gamingtrend Discord: https://discord.gg/T8jNjYP
