Welcome to Fun with Boxes, Episode 344: Unboxing the latest expansion for the brilliant Board Game, ROOT: The Homeland Expansion from designers S.W. Smith & Joshua Yearsley and publishers Leder Games Join me as I take a look at the latest expansion for ROOT The Board Game, The Homeland Expansion, plus all the extras that were available on the last kickstarter campaign for this tremendous game. Featuring: The Homeland Expansion The Homeland Hirelings Pack The Squires and Disciples Deck The Cardstock Faction Board Pack The Deluxe Clearing Markers The Deluxe Frog Clearing Markers, and The double sided Homeland Play Mat Rediscover the Woodland with three new factions and two maps for Root! Lilypad Diaspora: The Lilypad Diaspora, scattered and suppressed, seeks to call the Woodland home. As they integrate peacefully, civil war threatens. Training warriors, they must avoid aggression. A misunderstanding can lead to reprisals, hardening their militancy and spreading resentment. Twilight Council: Sickened by the conflict, the Twilight Council hosts assemblies to end the war, bringing together all Woodland factions. Emphasising political connections, they push factions away from battle and towards debate. As they progress, they can declare edicts to manipulate enemies’ incentives and actions. Knaves of the Deepwood: The origins of the Knaves of the Deepwood are shrouded in myths. From the treeline, they raid barracks, baggage trains, and take warriors as hostages for ransom. Some say they give the proceeds to the needy, while others say they spend it lavishly. Their celebrations ring out through the night, music swelling from the forest depths.
