Trick of Balance -魔女と鉱夫- (The Witch and The Miner) is a trick-taking card game from Japan. The game has two titles on the box front; the English title Trick of Balance, and the Japanese title 魔女と鉱夫 (The Witch and The Miner), which is the theme of the game.
In this game, players are following standard trick-taking play (follow suite lead, no trumps), but are trying to satisfy a winning condition in order to score points. So a player needs to be in the majority, but that majority could be winners or losers of the trick.
It's not just about winning or losing a trick- Manipulate the tricks and secure the majority!
A trick-taking game with a unique scoring twist! Instead of simply aiming to complete objectives, points are awarded based on whether the majority of players succeed or fail at their goals.
Sometimes, intentionally *failing* to meet your objective might be the right move. Yield a victory, gauge your opponents' moves, and manipulate the situation to your advantage!
