Thunder Road Review – The Mad Max Game That Almost Was (1986 vs. 2023)

Description provided by Old Crappy Couch on YouTube:

This is Thunder Road, and it’s one high octane good time! Thunder Road was first released in 1986 by Milton Bradley. It was originally conceptualized to be a Mad Max game, but the decision was made not to go ahead with the movie branding. When you take a close look at this game, you’ll see that a lot of design cues from the Mad Max movies are still very much intact. The history of Thunder Road on its own is fascinating, and if you’d like to know more, I’ve included a link to an Attic Raider’s Retro Reviews video about the 1986 Thunder Road. He goes into a bit more detail about the original game’s development and compares the American and European versions as well. Make sure to check out his channel after the review. @AtticRaidersRetroReviews Review of Thunder Road (1986): https://youtu.be/kPq4HL1CCHw?si=llVOwDWLZECThrYj Today I have a copy of the original 1986 version of Thunder Road by Milton Bradley and the new 2023 Thunder Road Vendetta by Restoration Games. Thunder Road Vendetta is very much intended to be an enhanced version of the original Thunder Road, so it’s very obvious that there will be some dramatic changes to the game, but I thought this would be a fun comparison.
