Watch “The Quest for El Dorado - The Staple Deck-building Board Game Everyone Needs to Play,” a board game review for The Quest for El Dorado on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Real Jon on YouTube:
In this video I'm talking about The Quest for El Dorado. It's my close second best deck builder that I could confidently say most people would like. The racing element of it gives the much needed tension and interaction in the usually solitary nature of deck building games. Both Super Motherload and Quest of El Dorado are very good games, I'd play the former when I want some more strategic meat in my games, and would choose the latter if I want more interaction and fun in general.
I drew some comparison to Clank! as well, because they are actually pretty similar. Honestly this seem to a better, shorter version of Clank! The Ascension style market in Clank! is random and doesn't leave much room for strategy, it's purely tactical. How many times do you see the market in Clank! and know immediately which card to buy? Don't even get me started on how awful it feels when you revealed the 'staple' cards for your next opponent after you bought something from the card market.
