If the premise sounds familiar, it is no coincidence. Released in 1980 just a year after the movie Alien came out, Intruder is the earliest known board game adaptation of what would soon become a multi-million dollar franchise. The Prometheus glided silently through space. Dr. Hart's scream unable to escape her lungs. Smothered by the crab-like creature they had picked up on Sigma Draconis. Something about it had changed. Something that made it almost perfect. She died as much in horror as in awe. *Intro* 0:00 Welcome 2:11 Backstory 4:24 Ship and Crew 8:07 Mission Directive *Act I: Cats, Just Cats* 12:15 Intruder Alert 18:25 First Sighting 25:59 Panic At the Bridge 30:37 Come Here, Kitty 44:01 Facehug *Act 2: Bug Hunt* 46:00 Shoot To Kill 54:34 What the Hell Is That Thing? 1:08:39 Blasters Blazing 1:14:19 A Perfect Organism 1:20:48 We Got It, Guys! *Act 3: Death Is Not the End* 1:23:56 The Second Coming 1:35:37 Back Off, Baxter! 1:42:27 Dead Radetsky *Act 4: Escape From Prometheus* 1:46:16 T Minus Eight 1:56:15 Alien Carnage 2:05:55 Sole Survivor 2:13:56 Alone, Almost *Outro* 2:19:10 From Alien (1979) To Intruder (1981) 2:27:23 Mechanics and Narrative 2:30:37 Hidden Intruder (2013) 2:31:27 Hopeless Stars Subscribe to this channel: https://youtube.com/@hopelessstream Twitch: https://twitch.tv/hopelessstream Instagram: https://instagram.com/hopelessgames Facebook: https://facebook.com/hopelessgames Hopeless Games dive into the weird and wonderful world of niche gaming.
