The 7 Seas 😍 Super cool adventures from @criticalhut2703 #boardgamereview

Description provided by boardiacs on YouTube:

The 7 Seas from @criticalhut is a 1-5 player game all about discovering the 7 Seas with all their treasures and hazards. Please keep in mind that this is a prototype and changes can occur in the final product. In The 7 Seas you go on an adventure to recover 7 lost gemstones and other treasures, discover new islands, gather and trade resources, fight merciless pirates and all this to prove that you are the true legend of the 7 seas! The main way you get to do this is through action selection, you will have 2 meeples available(captain and officer) and with each of them you get to choose a combination of 2 actions: Sail at sea, Land on an island, Dock a port, Repair or upgrade your ship. The game comes with 2 play variants: Discovery Mode and Advanced Mode. I played both of them and I can tell you that whether you're going with the shorter, simpler play or the more complex one, #the7seas is a highly thematic and immersive game which will keep you on your toes at all times. The artwork is beautiful, the components are very cool and high quality even though this is a prototype. The games we played were between 45 and 75 min depending on the mode we were playing. The board is modular and there are a lot of cards in the game so there's no doubt about replayability here and it will probably make you want to play it at least 2 times in a row. Knowing the islands and their potential is clearly an advantage and that's why I appreciate a lot that the game comes with a summary board about the islands available for all players at all times. Because at the base of it the mechanics are pretty simple and your success depends on dice which you can manipulate in number but not so much as a result the game seems to lean more towards a family-weight game. But there's a lot of planning ahead and resource management involved so there is more depth to it than you might think at first glance. We absolutely loved this game and we had so much fun playing it so if you're looking for a super fun and thematic family game you should definitely check out The 7 Seas which is available on gamefound.
