Spokes — Solo Puzzle vs Multiplayer Race | Velodrome Cycling Board Game

Description provided by One Last Hand on YouTube:

Welcome back to One Last Hand. In this video we’re playing Spokes, a cycling puzzle and racing game set around a velodrome track where every move is determined by the coloured spokes in your wheel. The goal is simple: complete three laps of the velodrome by building routes through the spokes on the board. But every turn you’ll be swapping spokes in and out of your wheel, constantly changing which paths you can follow. First, we try the solo challenge, where the puzzle is to find the perfect route and complete the three laps within twelve turns. Planning your route, managing your spoke colours, and spotting the right line through the board is the key to solving it. Then we reset the board and switch over to the multiplayer game, where things become a tactical race. Slipstreaming behind other riders lets you bend the rules slightly, but positioning, timing, and blocking your opponent become just as important as the route you choose. In this playthrough we take a look at: • how the solo puzzle challenge works • building routes through the velodrome spokes • swapping and managing spoke colours • the multiplayer slipstream mechanic • how the race version changes the puzzle Spokes is a clever route-building puzzle that works both as a solo brain teaser and as a tactical racing game when played with multiple riders.
