Watch “Rumble Nation First Impressions The Sengoku Showdown I Did NOT See Coming! #boardgames,” a board game review for Rumble Nation on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Ronald aka The BoardGameBruh on YouTube:
What's good Cardboard Cousins, I just sat down with Rumble Nation — published by Asmodee USA and originally a Tokyo Game Market Awards Grand Prize winner out of Japan — and I need to talk about how this area control dice game absolutely fooled me into thinking it would be straightforward before humbling me with its depth. The way you roll three dice, split them into a pair and a single, and then decide where to deploy your soldiers across 11 castles in feudal Japan feels simple on the surface, but reading the board and anticipating how those cascading reinforcement chains are going to ripple through the map? That is a whole different conversation. I love that every decision carries weight because once your meeples are placed, the ascending order scoring at the end means those low-value castles you ignored early can absolutely flip the whole game on you — I learned that the hard way. The Sengoku Era theme is tight, the gameplay is fast at 20 to 40 minutes, and there's a real satisfying tension that builds as everyone's armies stack up and you're trying to out-think your opponents without tipping your hand. Cardboard Cousins, if you want a light-to-mid weight game that rewards strategic thinking and has you wanting to run it back immediately — go check out @AsmodeeGamesUSA because Rumble Nation is the real deal.
