Shogunate Beyond: VERRAT
The Galactic 4X Strategy Board Game
Step into the contested heart of Sector Rei! Following the fall of the imperial Shogunate, the gates to the central star systems have been permanently opened. Factions from across the galaxy are dispatching their expedition fleets to claim dominance over vast resources and the mysterious, living energy-matrix biomass system of the core worlds.
Gameplay & The 4X Pillars
EXPLORE: Survey the surfaces of unknown planets and reveal their unique Planet Conditions – from rich Harvester Worlds to Dangerous Planets. Utilize the dynamic Wormhole Network (tailored for 2–4 or 5–6 players) to strike deep into enemy territory.
EXPAND: Construct tactical Planet Upgrades: build Mines to boost income, Shield Generators and Turrets for defense, or Nano Forges and Trading Outposts to fuel your ongoing expansion.
EXPLOIT: Secure valuable income and Reward Tokens by bringing planets under your control. Spend your resources to recruit powerful units, upgrade your battle fleets, or play decisive Occurrence Cards (OC Cards).
EXTERMINATE: Experience a deep, multi-phase combat system featuring Pre-Battle, Long Range, Mid Range, and Close Range phases. Strategically deploy up to 9 distinct unit types (including Ashigaru Fighters, Oni-Class Frigates, and the towering Daimyo Flagship), utilizing their unique skills and shield mechanics.
Tactical Depth & Dynamics
20 Unique Factions: Every faction brings custom passive and unique faction abilities alongside specific starting fleets. Whether unleashing the bioweapon resource networks of the Kagutsuchi Outbreak or the world-devouring forces of the Tōtetsu Maw – no two matches are ever the same!
Diplomacy & Alliance System: Forge temporary alliances to gain trade benefits and grant logistical movement access. Intervene directly in your ally’s battles using Galactic Interventions – or wait for the ultimate moment of strategic Treason to secure instant victory points!
Comprehensive Components: Includes a large game board, 48 detailed 3D fleet miniatures, 6 dry-erase fleet boards, 32 custom dice, over 200 tokens/cubes, and 85 tactical OC Cards.
Variable Victory Conditions & Maps: Reach the required Victory Point threshold by securing Anomaly Planets, completing secret Objectives, winning battles, or establishing total system control. Adaptable setup variants (First Game, Scenario, or Galaxy Draft) make it tailored for both newcomers and hardcore strategy veterans alike.
