We’ve been playing Restart by Teetotum Games… and yes, we may have tampered with the timeline a few times in the process. In this video, we share our first impressions of this time-travelling, engine-building game where you’re trying to stop a dystopian future by laying cards on a shared board to complete combination misions. Each player is juggling their own “mind board”, building up actions and resources while sending both their adult and younger selves around the board. But dont forget the looming fear of causing a paradox, that never ends well. One of the things we really enjoyed is the modular nature of the game. With multiple dystopias to play through — each with its own twist on the core system — it keeps things feeling fresh, like you’ve jumped into an entirely new version of the future each time. It’s a clever mix of planning, adapting, and occasionally realising that Past You has made things significantly worse for Future You… which feels uncomfortably relatable. If you enjoy games that play around with time, consequences, and building up your own little system of actions, Restart is definitely one to keep an eye on.
