*Full replay* of the article "Series Replay - Gettysburg '88" by Martin,R.A., Cluck, B.A., and Tayler, S.C.Jr. published in _The General_ *Vol. 25*, issue 5, pages 6-14 (available at https://www.vftt.co.uk/files/AH%20The%20General/The%20General%20Vol%2025%20No%205.pdf#page=6). The Union faction concedes the game at the end of turn 18, having taking very heavy casualties. The optional _Control & Command_ and _Initiative_ rules are used. The commentary mentions the _Indirect Fire_ optional rule, but it is not used at any point in the session. Overall, the Union faction seems to be too reluctant to go on the offensive on the first day of the battle, and even though it manages to form an east-west line (up-down on the map), it does not prevent the Union faction from taking very heavy casualties. The Confederate faction, on the other hand, fails to enforce its right flank and never gets near Little Round Top. All in all, the session did not play out as the historical battle. * There is no commentary. Read the above article for the commentary. Each phase lasts 2 seconds which should give you time to pause. * The video uses the Print'n'Play PDF available from https://wargames_tex.gitlab.io/wargame_www/games.html#gettysburg-smithsonian or from BoardGameGeek at https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/262912 * Audio: Americana - Aspiring by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Links: * Martin,R.A., Cluck, B.A., and Tayler, S.C.Jr., "Series Replay - Gettysburg '88", _The General_ *Vol. 25*, issue 5, pages 6-14: https://www.vftt.co.uk/files/AH%20The%20General/The%20General%20Vol%2025%20No%205.pdf#page=6 * BoardGameGeek Print'n'Play file page: https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/262912 * BoardGameGeek game page: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1576 * VASSAL module page: https://vassalengine.org/library/projects/gettysburg_125th_anniversary_cholmcc * LaTeX wargames: https://wargames_tex.gitlab.io/wargame_www
