Primates: My Favorite Mechanism

About Primates, from BoardGameGeek:

Primates is an evolutionary board game where you can explore the evolution of more than 100 different primate species. Evolve and try to outmaneuver your opponents as you forage for food and build social bonds. As your primates evolve, they gain special abilities. Whether you prefer the agility of gibbons or the remarkable memory of chimpanzees, the choice is yours. You determine which evolutionary path to take. -description from the designer
