Watch “Primal: Legends Review — The Crunchy 25 Minute Boss Battler,” a board game review from Shelfside on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Shelfside on YouTube:
We review 3 boxes of Primal Legends, a 25 minute boss battler! This has asymmetric card play while you play around the boss’s behavior and attrition cards, primarily for solo play but can play up to 3 hunters. There’s lots of hand and deck management, balancing your attacks with defensive cards, and generally making sure not to fatigue too quickly. We cover all hunters and bosses from Voice of the Storm, Earth, and Spirit from multiple difficulties. While this is a lot more accessible than Primal: The Awakening, does that mean it’s worth pursuing, especially at this bite sized box style? What aspects of boss battling are sacrificed by making the game so small and short?
Other games mentioned: Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion, Grimcoven
