Later was arrested on corruption charges having just made bail after spending some time in prison and is currently pending trial. (i think) Terry Gou, the Black party candidate, billionaire founder and CEO of Foxconn, ran as an independent after failing to secure the KMT's nomination but dropped out and didn't appear on the ballot. James Soong, the Orange (PFP) party candidate. He was the last elected "Taiwan Provincial Governor" before that position was disolved in 1998. After he was kicked out of the KMT in 2000, he founded the PFP. The split cost the KMT the 2000 election and Soong's party nearly won, coming a close 2nd to the DPP. He's been a perenial candidate ever since.
