Watch “Pacific Rails Inc.,” a board game video for Pacific Rails Inc. from Vesuvius Media on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Vesuvius Media on YouTube:
In 1862, the Pacific Railroad Act chartered the Central Pacific and the Union Pacific Railroad Companies, tasking them with building a transcontinental railroad.
Over the next seven years, the two companies raced towards each other, struggling against great risks, changing the face of the continent.
On May 10, 1869, they finally meet, connecting the two coasts, at Promontory, Utah.
In Pacific Rails Inc, players are the Presidents of their own Railway Company, with a contract to build a railroad from one side of the board to the other.
To succeed, your workers need to gather resources like wood, gunpowder and steel. Lobby Congress for funding. Hire Specialists to help manufacture tracks. And then lay them on the map, placing bridges, tunnels, rails to travel through the harsh terrain.
In your effort to connect the east with the west, you will also build new cities and telegraph stations. Your railway adventure begins now!
