# Nemesis: Legacy – A Glorified Expansion? | Why I Won’t Be Backing It
In this video, I bring my BoardGameGeek review, “A Glorified Expansion”, to YouTube, explaining why I’ve decided not to back Nemesis: Legacy.
Nemesis has established itself as one of the standout thematic board games, delivering cinematic sci-fi horror, tense survival decisions, hidden agendas, and the constant threat of something lurking in the darkness. So when a new instalment promises to build on that experience, the expectations are naturally high.
But does Nemesis: Legacy offer enough to justify another investment in the series?
In this video, I explore the arguments behind my review and explain why I’m not convinced that Nemesis: Legacy does enough to distinguish itself from what has come before. Rather than simply getting swept up in the excitement surrounding another major release, I take a closer look at its value proposition and whether it offers the kind of meaningful evolution I want to see.
The central question is simple: are we getting a genuinely new experience that makes meaningful use of the legacy format, or something that feels more like a glorified expansion?
This is the video version of my original BoardGameGeek review, bringing those arguments to a wider audience and opening up the discussion. If you’re considering backing Nemesis: Legacy, already own games in the Nemesis series, or are simply interested in the direction of modern thematic board games, I hope this gives you something to think about before making your decision.
🎲 **What do you think?**
Is Nemesis: Legacy a worthwhile evolution of the series, or does it struggle to justify itself alongside the games that came before it? Do you agree with my assessment, or do you think the legacy elements offer enough to make it stand apart?
Let me know your thoughts in the comments. I’m keen to hear what other players make of the game and whether you think I’m being too critical.
