In Master Detectives: Code X, players take on the role of one of various master detectives that have gathered to determine, once and for all, who among them is the greatest detective. Each detective compiles a secret code for one of their opponents and tries to decipher their own code through clever detective work. Tactically move your detective across the playing field to reach the desired location and garner the right information, or question your opponents about your code. Each player receives code tiles corresponding to a specific digit and compiles a three-digit code for their neighbour. Players move their marker across the composite playing board to gather clues about their code in the form of planted code tiles and by asking questions about their code to fellow players. By ruling out specific digits, players can deduce their personal code. The first player to declare their entire code correctly, wins the game.
