It introduced the Disguised keyword, allowing characters to enter play by replacing existing ones to save on cost. The cycle includes 6 packs: For the Empire, Bonds of Blood, Justice for Satsume, The Children of Heaven, A Champion's Foresight, and Shoju's Duty. Key Features of the Inheritance Cycle: Disguised Mechanic: A major focus of the cycle, this allows a character to replace a non-unique character on the field. The new character reduces its cost by the cost of the discarded character and enters unbowed, keeping any attachments, as seen on cards like Akodo Zentaro. Thematic Focus: The cycle centers on the "Inheritance" of Rokugan's power, featuring heavy themes of samurai legacy, bushi, and the changing of the guard, along with political maneuvering. Pack Details: Each of the six packs includes 22 new cards, designed to enhance player strategies with a focus on both military and political conflicts. The Inheritance Cycle Packs (in order): For the Empire Bonds of Blood Justice for Satsume The Children of Heaven A Champion's Foresight Shoju's Duty The cycle focuses on the Hantei dynasty in a period of intense conflict, where the Great Clans fight for dominance.
