Kavango is a card drafting, animal sanctuary building game where you strive to create the most diverse conservation habitat by constructing a diverse ecosystem containing native plants, docile herbivores, and voracious carnivores. (hey, everyone's has to eat)
Game consists of three card drafting rounds where you will decide between 4 basic plant types, multiple different animals, and one time action cards to give you an advantage over your opponents.
Use the sanctuary sections of your conservation to save animals you can't yet support or fulfill the requirements to place them safely within your guarded grounds.
Obtain money to fund your program through public multi-level research goals with a unique twist. Once you obtain the funds, you cannot obtain a greater level each turn.
Invest your funds to protect against poachers, build up your habitat, and collectively protect against environmental climate disasters. All of these (along with food requirements) are prerequisites for each type of animal you will place in your habitat.
Multi-level engine building, diverse card acquisition, direct player interaction, and clean card and board look make this a beautifully thought-out game that would be a wonderful addition to your game night.
