Is Finspan just a reskin, or does it completely earn its stay on the shelf? As a completionist, I had to see for myself

⚙️ Vertical Action Chaining & Hand Management
Finspan layout is completely vertical. You're placing cards into your ocean mat, and when you drop your wooden diver down the column, it triggers every single thing it hits on the way down. Splash. The turn loop is clean. You're either playing a fish card directly into your ocean grid, or dropping that diver to activate your columns
Compared to Wingspan and Wyrmspan, this one is easier to teach. Most points wins by totaling up your fish, tokens, and weekly board achievements at the end. My wife absolutely dismantled my engine on our first game (standard Thursday for us)
Though they share the same DNA Finspan is its own game. The strategy is deep, and I am genuinely hooked (pun intended). Now to the hardest part, can I resist buying the expansion? And for how long 🙈
