I’ve played Forest Rivals now, and my first reaction is that this little bear-and-bee battle had me thinking way more than I expected, Cousins. I found myself making one move while already worrying about how that move could help the other side, which gave me that delicious little tug-of-war I’m always looking for in a competitive game. I also enjoyed the puzzle of deciding where I could place or cover cards without accidentally handing over an opportunity I needed for myself. I’m not ready to overstate my verdict after one play, but I absolutely came away with opinions about the strategy, the tension, and how satisfying the final scoring felt to me.
