Welcome to Fun with Boxes, Episode 360: How to Play VIVO, the trick-taking gameswith singing puppies, designed by LEO and published by allplay as part of their tiny box game series. A wonderful card game for 3-4 players! Join me as I take a look at what you get in this super small Game and how to set it up and how to play. In Vivo, each round kicks off with a harmony type being revealed—whether it’s a solo, duet, trio or quartet. This harmony tells us how many suits we need to play in the trick. If we can’t play all the suits, we’re ‘off-harmony’ and that player won’t get any points. At the trick’s end, the player who played the highest card that was on-harmony gets two points, and the player with the lowest on-harmony card gets points equal to the card’s value (those bass notes are key!).
