About Blitzword, from BoardGameGeek:

Blitzword is a fast-paced card-shedding word game for 2 or more players. Players begin each round with a hand of 8 word cards. One word card is placed face-up in the center of the table as the active word, and one or more rule cards (like "Same Last Vowel" or "Longer Word") are revealed alongside it. In Speed Mode, there are no turns. The moment a player spots a valid connection with one of their current words, they place the card on top of the active word and verbally announce how it satisfies one of the current rules (for example, calling out "same starting letter!" or "two syllables!") A valid play replaces the active word with the newly played card, and play continues from there. If a player can't make any matches, they knock on the table to vote to reveal a new rule card. Once a majority has been reached, a new rule card is revealed and can be used to make matches. In Strategy Mode, players take turns performing any 2 actions, chosen from: playing a word card that satisfies an active rule, replacing one of their word cards with a new one from the deck, swapping the active word for a new one from the deck, or replacing one of the two active rule cards. Players may yell "Blitz!" and play a word card out of turn if it satisfies both of the active rules simultaneously. The first player to empty their hand ends the round. All other players score penalty points for remaining cards in hand. After 3 rounds, the player with the lowest total score wins. -description from the publisher
