Hodl'emoon is a strategy board game for 2 people inspired by libertarian principles and rooted in the Bitcoin cypherpunk culture. The setting of the game reproduces an educational miniature model of the downfall of a Fiat monetary standard compared with the regenerative opportunities for human life under a Bitcoin standard. Both players develop their Agora made up of hexagonal tiles, collect energy or monetary tokens and defend themselves from the Castle, the evil apparatus that parasitizes the economy of the game through violence and tax withdrawals. Different and independent winning conditions create challenging and always different games. Players can win by Spiritual, Technological or Evil Superiority. Both have to accumulate points under 8 different score criteria to pass their Self-Examination of Soul in the Mirror for Spiritual Superiority. Tokens, acquired in the form of energy or money, collected on the market or by the Hodl'em Poker hands, can be converted into points. By distributing the points differently, it's possible to carry out the available actions more or less successfully. The divine clock moves forward to register the passage of time and the rush of inflation which changes the conversion ratio among the resources. The pressure from inflation and the lack of energy can lead to unpleasant involutions. The game can end early if one of the player gets Technological Superiority by gaining an advantage of five Evolutionary Stage advancements. Turns and phases are based on the orderly execution of a loop of activities to be repeated until an end-of-game condition is reached. Hands of a poker variation similar to Poker Texas Hold'em take place among dice challenges and other special moves and actions within the Agora. Even if SATs are not subject to censorship nor robbery, maintain a fixed 1:1 ratio with energy and points and can provide very precious savings points, not all players may choose virtuous paths! They may try to zombify the opponent to win in advance by Evil Superiority. They may delay the introduction of Bitcoin, living on Fiat loans and choosing the path of collaborationism with the Castle. The heavy consequences of the application of all the Castle cards can also turn against the collaborationist himself: by accumulating negative debt&envy points, unconscious or criminal tiles, sadly everyone can end zombified! -description from the designer
