Can you beat the Devil at his own poker table? In Hell of a Deal, you're not playing against the other players—you’re working together to beat the house, survive the bosses of Hell, and eventually take on the Devil himself.
In this Hell of a Deal board game review, we take a look at this cooperative poker game from Smirk & Dagger Games. Built around Texas Hold’em-style poker, Hell of a Deal adds a whole new layer of strategy with unique Boss abilities, Favor and Curse cards, Power chips, Souls, and Temptation.
Each round, you'll face a new Boss who changes the way you approach the poker hand. You'll need to build strong hands, work together, and sometimes cheat like Hell to give your team an advantage—but push your luck too far and the consequences can catch up with you.
We'll talk about how the game plays, what makes the cooperative poker system interesting, the different ways you can manipulate your hands, and what we think of Hell of a Deal after playing it.
Hell of a Deal is for 2–4 players and plays in about 90–120 minutes.
