Learn to How to Play Hearts in just 3 Minutes! Thank you for stopping by. Hearts is a classic trick-taking game that dates back to the 1800s. In each round, players play one card into the centre, and the highest card of the leading suit wins the trick, collecting all the cards played. Normally, you’ll want to avoid winning tricks with Hearts or the Queen of Spades, since those add to your score. In Hearts, you want to avoid points, your goal is to finish with the fewest points by the end of the game. There IS one exception: if you manage to collect every single Heart and the Queen of Spades, you “shoot the moon,” handing everyone else a pile of points instead!
