Watch “Hapsburg Eclipse Playthrough,” a gameplay video for Hapsburg Eclipse: The Great War in Eastern Europe 1914-1918 on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by the creator on YouTube:
Hapsburg Eclipse: A playthrough
Play through of the game Hapsburg Eclipse by Victory Point Games.
This is my first playthrough of a game. Please forgive any errors. Actually, I made some mistakes over the game, but I think it is still a valid demonstration of the basic rules. The errors are documented in the video.
My voice is horrible and my English worse, I therefore leave the images to talk by themselves. I wanted to add some music, but I am not acquainted with authorship and property rights in YouTube and prefer to stay away from trouble.
I am aware that you can find better videos, with better production and so on. I am just trying to share my understanding of the game with someone that, maybe, is having the same problems I had at the beginning.
Mechanics of the video:
Each card is played thoroughly and from top to bottom. Irrelevant actions are not shown. Dice next to a token show the value of the die corresponding to each action. For example, in the first action, I got a 3 for a Battle Value of 5 (Cer), the result of the off-the-map event is a Defeat (the token is placed in the corresponding area of the board). Army movements are shown in their final position. Offensives' results are shown with the die next to the incumbent token in its original position and, in most cases, the next image shows the final position of the token. When an action's consequence requires placing a new token in the board (or removing it from), the result is shown in the subsequent image (for example, military effects of nationalities' revolt). When relevant, the National Will status is shown at the end of the turn.
Thanks for watching.
