In this Greylune board game review, we take a look at this medieval fantasy adventure game that combines worker placement, exploration, quests, companions, items, and strategic decision-making. Designed by William Attia, the designer of Caylus, Greylune puts you in the role of an adventurer exploring the frontier town of Greylune and building your reputation through the stories of your adventures.
Over the course of five years, you'll send your workers out into the village, gather resources, prepare for adventures, complete quests, recruit companions, and return home to share your stories. But timing is everything! Knowing when to place your workers, when to bring them home, and how to react to what your opponents are doing creates a fascinating layer of strategy.
In this review, we’ll talk about how Greylune plays, what makes its worker placement system unique, the adventure and quest mechanisms, player interaction, and who we think will enjoy this game.
