First Impressions! - Fall of the Mountain King Preview - Board Game

Description provided by The Broken Meeple on YouTube:

Fall of the Mountain King is a standalone prequel to In the Hall of The Mountain King, set during the catastrophic war that drove the trolls from their mountain kingdom generations ago. Build your ancestry to drive your actions in the caverns, win the loyalty of the clan Champions, and strive to be trolldom's greatest defender against the gnomish onslaught. The publisher and designer were kind enough to teach me the game on Tabletop Simulator on Monday evening. So here are my honest first impressions of the game based on that play? I'm not here to tell you whether you should back a game on KS or not, I'm here to simply explain what the game is about, what I liked and what concerns if any I have. *************************************** Subscribe ► https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmjyHBcqxxQjrg0KUN944dQ?sub_confirmation=1 Get an exclusive 5% discount from watching my channel at ZATU Games using the code: "TBMZYT5" https://www.board-game.co.uk/ *************************************** Related Content Welcome To My Channel (Who I Am) ► https://youtu.be/I8mtQvDb_FM Preview of Dice Theme Park ► https://youtu.be/P9YdZTLFiv8 Why I Bought Hall of the Mountain King ► https://youtu.be/NtHDJJhp3O8 *************************************** Who Am I? One single batchelor from the UK talking about his passion for board games and the people who play them! I support small content creators, board game cafes and go against the status quo when it comes to the board game industry. I give my honest opinions without bias towards any publishers or designers and will not hold back if I don't like a game. The Broken Meeple is a variety channel that hosts all kinds of board game content from reviews to Top 10 lists to playthroughs to live stream collaborations with special guests (predominantly small channels who deserve more exposure). I look forward to engaging with you, the community on my live streams or in the comments on my videos! *************************************** Timestamps: 00:00 - Introduction and The Purpose of this Video 01:29 - Overview 03:11 - Ancestry Building 05:59 - Actions and Scoring in Brief 07:23 - Player Scaling (Concerns over AP/Downtime Potential) 09:05 - Plenty of Depth But The Rules Aren't Complex 12:02 - Tactics & Strategy plus Player Interaction 13:58 - Immersion & Replay Value 17:43 - Summary & First Impressions Rating #brokenmeeple #fallofthemountainking #burntislandgames #boardgames #boardgame #lukehector #supportsmallcreators #boardgamegeek #game #tabletop #tabletopgames #bgg #boardgamer #boardgamereview *************************************** Useful Links Become a Patreon ► https://www.patreon.com/TheBrokenMeeple Facebook ► https://www.facebook.com/thebrokenmeeple Twitter ► https://twitter.com/TheBrokenMeeple Instagram ► https://www.instagram.com/thebrokenmeeple Podcast ► https://soundcloud.com/luke-hector-broken-meeple
