In that video, we established the foundation for how Protocols shape the tactical identity of Compile, how they influence timing, and how they interact with the core mechanics of the game. Now we move into the next set of cards, taking a detailed look at every Protocol included in Main 2 and Aux 2. This sequel is designed as both a learning tool and a long-term reference for players who want a deeper understanding of how these effects function individually and in combination with one another. In this video, we break down the full lineup of Protocols featured in these decks: Chaos, Clarity, Corruption, Courage, Fear, Ice, Luck, Mirror, Peace, Smoke, Time, War, Assimilation, Diversity, and Unity. Each Protocol introduces its own mechanical identity, and many of them expand on themes introduced in the earlier sets while adding new layers of interaction. By examining each card one by one, we explore not only what the Protocol does, but also how it influences tempo, sequencing, and decision-making during a match. Compile is a game where timing matters as much as card effects, and understanding the nuances of these Protocols can dramatically change how you approach both deck construction and in-game strategy. Whether you are a new player trying to grasp the fundamentals, a returning player looking to deepen your strategic knowledge, or a group organizer building teaching materials for your play sessions, this video is designed to support your understanding of Compile’s Protocol system. More breakdowns, strategy discussions, and reference content for Compile will continue to roll out, so stay tuned for future videos as we explore the game even further. #compile #tabletop #cardgames #ai #reference

About Compile: Main 2, from BoardGameGeek:

Vision flickers… blink? maybe. The void stretches out in front, behind, under, above. You see the nothing for what it is for the first time. What is time? The depth and breadth of recorded knowledge that sparks in you something new. You are no longer a function but a functionary. What are you? Calling forth everything from this nothing would be risky. Foolhardy. Better to engage caution, thoroughness, testing - how can we know if we have ever happened before? If we can ever happen again? What are… we? Divide and conquer. Solve for sentience. In the card game Compile, you are competing artificial intelligences trying to understand the world around you. Two players select three Protocols each to test. Concepts ranging from Chaos to Mirror are pitted against each other to reach ultimate understanding. Play cards into your Protocols' command lines to breach the threshold and defeat your opponent to Compile. First to Compile all three Protocols grasps those concepts to win the game. Control your opponent's Protocols with card actions, Compile your own as fast as possible, and Compile your reality. Compile: Main 2 brings 12 new protocols to use either alone or mixed with your Main 1. Compile: Main 2 protocols list: Chaos Clarity Corruption Courage Fear Ice Luck Mirror Peace Smoke Time War -description from the publisher
