Eclipse Second Dawn for the Galaxy and Shenk's - Board Game & Whisky Pairing - Sip & Play

Description provided by Tabletop Tastings on YouTube:

In episode 39 of Sip & Play, Steve and Les pair the 2-6 player space adventure Eclipse (2020) designed by Touko Tahkokallio and published by lautapelit with Shenk's 2023 Homestead Sour Mash Whiskey. The Board Game "Eclipse - 2nd Dawn for the Galaxy is a new release of 2020 and it replaces the classic 2011 version of the game. Eclipse places you in control of a vast interstellar civilization. Explore new star systems, research technologies, and build spaceships with which to wage war. There are many potential paths to victory, so you need to plan your strategy according to the strengths and weaknesses of your species, while paying attention to the other civilizations' endeavors. Eclipse is a "4X" game where players will command a human or alien species that explores, expands, exploits, and exterminates their way to victory. Over 8 rounds, each player will select actions to achieve their goals, carefully managing resources, engaging in epic battles with one another and the Ancients that lie in wait. Only one will guide the galaxy toward the second dawn." - Lautapelit https://en.lautapelit.fi/product/24681/eclipse---2nd-dawn-for-the-galaxy Board Game Geek (BGG) Link: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgamepublisher/3218/lautapelitfi The Whiskey "Shenk's is a Kentucky Sour Mash Whiskey made with a substantial amount of rye. The unique character of this 2023 offering results from its being produced with malted rye in the recipe. Additionally for it's maturation we utilized two different and quite special barrel profiles: a portion of it was aged in 18 month naturally air dried and seasoned wood with our signature toast and char profile and a portion of it was aged in special toasted French oak barrels that were made from 24-month air-dried wood sourced from the Vosges region of France" - Michter's https://michters.com/shenks-homestead/#1690386646168-f493e48b-9e14 Follow Tabletop Tastings: TT on Instagram and Facebook: @TabletopTastings Les on Instagram: @Les.TabletopTastings Steve on Instagram: @slicedicedrams Contact us by email: Les.TabletopTastings@gmail.com And a special thank you to Dane Von Hardenberg for scoring the music to our outro.
