Hints and Tips from Rodger Deering:
BLUE RUNES:
When your heroes discover a blue rune, put that into your play area. That is actually a valuable rune!
ANYTIME that ANY hero makes a roll of a die, that blue rune can be cashed in to re-roll that die for a new result.
Simply declare you are using a blue rune to re-roll a die, then place the blue rune token back into the game box. I don't want people to miss that rule.
RESURRECTING HEROES IN AVALON:
When a hero is resurrected, the health and essence cannot go past their starting health and essence levels.
This is denoted by the value with the small white circle on each track.
FOR BATTLES ON THE BATTLEBOARD, USE THE COLORED PLASTIC BASES FOR THE MONSTERS AND CREATURES AND USE THE ASSOCIATED COLORED DICE FOR THOSE PLASTIC COLORED BASES:
Let me explain....this makes battles VERY easy to keep track of and manage. First, remember this chart:
Red plastic bases - Red D12 / D6
Blue plastic bases - Blue D12 / D6
Green plastic bases - Green D12 / D6
Purple plastic bases - Purple D12 / D6
Yellow plastic bases - Orange D12 / D6 (No yellow dice in the game)
Black plastic bases - Black D12 / D6
For example, when you showed that combat with Melhiliak and Sir Brennus, you were using black bases for those 2 Skeletal Grunts.
Next time, use a red plastic base for one Skeletal Grunt and use a blue plastic base for the other Skeletal Grunt.
That way, you can just roll a red D12 and a blue D12 together, and you'll know the result of the combat for each Skeletal Grunt. See what I mean?
Your heroes will run into some battles where there are 6 monsters and creatures, so use that chart above to easily keep track of the combat and what monster and creature is receiving damage and dealing damage to a specific hero.
The bottom line is using that chart I put above makes battles much easier to track what's going on.
