Cultivo: Overview: Economic Board Games

About Cultivo, from BoardGameGeek:

Grow, Build, Flourish. It's the early 18th century. The once swampy Ebro Delta has been made arable by canals. Now, fertile fields yield rich harvests, and small villages flourish. In Cultivo you assign workers, trade your crops at the market for equipment, and construct buildings to develop your reputation and expand your possibilities strategically. The innovative market mechanism makes crop trading a central tactical element. The variable game board adds further variety – no two games are the same. With each step, your influence grows – and so do your chances of victory. A scenic strategy game with tactical depth and Mediterranean  air. -description from the publisher
