Watch “Cloudspire The Graft Faction Expansion Review | Unique Mechanics & Worth It?,” a board game review on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Tabletop Gaming Guild on YouTube:
In this video, I review The Graft Faction Expansion for Cloudspire, the deep strategy tower-defense board game from Chip Theory Games. I break down the new faction mechanics, gameplay impact, replayability, and overall value, and share whether this expansion is worth adding to your collection.
The Graft faction stands out as one of the most unique in the game, built around absorption and mutation mechanics. Defeated minions can be absorbed and later redeployed in stronger, “grafted” forms, creating evolving strategies throughout the match.
At the center of the faction is Nucleus, a powerful hero that also acts as a mobile fortress, allowing you to reposition your defensive and offensive pressure across the map—but making it a high-value target as well.
The faction also introduces parasitic worm units with abilities like Infest, letting them attach to enemy units and deal ongoing damage, adding a disruptive and aggressive playstyle.
Overall, The Graft delivers a highly asymmetric, tactical experience that rewards creative play—but like most Cloudspire content, it comes with a steep learning curve and complexity best suited for experienced players.
If you enjoy heavy strategy games, asymmetric factions, or expanding your Cloudspire experience, this review will help you decide if The Graft Expansion is right for you.
