Cat Fight! is a fast-paced card game for 2–5 players, ages 7 and up, with games lasting approximately 5–20 minutes.
Players are kittens fighting for cat food. The first player to get 12 cat food first wins. To do this, players draw 2 cards a turn and can play up to 3 cards a turn. There are three card types; yellow, red and blue cards. Yellow cards are played during the player's turn to steal, eat, and fight for cat food as well as make other players lose cat food through sickness, exercise and sleep. Blue cards are played during the during a player's turn too. These are rare powerful cards that protect or work in combo with other cards during the game. Red cards and interrupt cards. There is no limit to how many you can play. You can play them during your turn or during any other player's turn to surprise, counterattack, and defend. As players can target any player during any turn as well as during other player turns, players have to plan ahead and wait for the right moment to make that final move for victory. Likewise, if you are too far ahead in cat food, expect other players to team up on you. This makes Cat Fight a fun game of chaos, making friends, then betraying them.
The game combines simple rules with strategic decisions and plenty of player interaction, making it suitable for both families and adults.
Cat Fight! is designed to be easy to learn and quick to play, while giving players plenty of opportunities to interfere with one another with fun banter on the side. Its cute kitten theme contrasts with the game's mischievous and competitive gameplay.
The game was originally created approximately 15 years ago as a handmade prototype and was subsequently playtested and refined over several years with friends, family, and colleagues, including games played with large groups.
