Watch “Cabriole 2-player Playthrough,” a gameplay video for Cabriole from Meridae Games on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Meridae Games on YouTube:
Game designer Doug Bass, together with solo rules developer Brandon Ellis, sit down for a two-player game of Cabriole, the newest title from Meridae Games.
Set in the world of 18th-century London's busy furniture trade, players manage competing furniture houses, staffed with craftsmen such as carvers, turners, and upholders. During the game, players aim to fulfill orders from distinguished clientele in the hopes of becoming the most prestigious business in the city.
The game's worker placement aspect is queue-based, meaning the players first take turns lining up their Assistants in different queues to take orders, increase their craftsmen's skill levels, or acquire raw materials such as oak, walnut, mahogany, and silk. After all Assistants have been placed, the queues are resolved one-by-one, with the first player in each queue receiving the best choice, followed by the second player, and so on. Other mechanics include light engine-building and set collection.
Labeled "cozy yet strategic", Cabriole is suitable for ages 14+ and plays in 45-90 minutes, depending on player count. The game will be funded using the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform, with the campaign starting September 30th, 2025.
