Description provided by Ludus Vulpes on YouTube:
Kirsty and Phil share their thoughts and opinions on Broken and Beautiful, a game about Kintsugi - the art of repairing damaged and broken ceramics with gold.
Players draft pottery in a snake draft method and manage the breakage of the ceramics and then repair using gold ingots, to create the most beautiful set.
Having first discovering this game at PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia, Kirsty late pledged on Game Found and collected this fantastic deluxe edition of the game into the collection.
"Kintsugi" is the Japanese art of using golden lacquer to repair broken pottery.
In Broken and Beautiful, players draft cards like bowls, cups, and tea jars to create high-scoring sets. As some pieces inevitably break, players must judiciously repair what has been shattered.
Whole pottery is valuable. Broken dishes are worthless. That which has broken and been repaired is uniquely precious.
This game plays two to four players and is a fairly quick game, ending in fifteen to twenty minutes once players fully understand the game the easy to pick up iconography.
