Game description:
Bizarre Bazaar is a word association party game in which players combine Qualities (adjectives and gerunds) with Items (nouns) to create Quality Items for other players to pitch to a rotating Buyer. The winning Quality Item’s creator and pitcher each receive rewards at the end of each round, so both creative card combination and improvised storytelling are incentivized throughout the game.
Gameplay Variants:
1. To fit more than 7 players into the game, a Buyer or Inventor can be a team of 2 or more players.
2. If players are seated in an irregular play area e.g., not closely together around a flat table, consider taping 1 of each type of Bizarre card to the 7 bags (so 1 card per bag, showing its symbol side). This will allow all bags to be moved more easily across greater distances between players. Cards will never have to be removed from the bags, and the Buyer can flip their other Bizarre card to show that they are the Buyer.
3. If you have taped cards to bags (as described in Variant #2), players will no longer have to close their eyes during the Invent phase. Instead, bags that have been filled with Quality Items can be stacked facedown in front of the buyer. Once all bags are stacked, the Buyer secretly looks at the Bizarre Card on each bag and redistributes them facedown to Inventors, ensuring as always that the symbols on the bags and in front of the Inventors do not match. Once facedown bags are in front of each Inventor, play proceeds to the Pitch phase as normal.
