Description provided by The Microprose Podcast on YouTube:

Etherfield Studio talk about their game, B-17 Flying Fortress: The Bloody 100th - Board Game Edition. Topics include the board game’s origin story, WW2 setting, cooperative vs solo play, different gameplay styles, how a typical mission unfolds, and more! Huge thanks to Lajos Tihanyi, Dávid Csobay, and György Péchy for taking the time to chat with us! Lajos Tihanyi is the lead designer at Etherfield Studio. He is a creative by profession and an incurable dreamer at heart. He holds degrees in arts and computer science, and is also a fine arts theorist who has studied graphic design. His professional experiences include serving as a project manager, web designer, and junior art director, among other roles, all while working on analog and digital games as side projects. He is currently doing what he has always wanted to do - develop games. David Csobay works as writer and designer for Etherfield Studios. He also works as a translator, as quality controller in state subsidies, and as a bar tender for fun. He has an MA in literature and linguistics and also studied cultural anthropology and religion. David is the introvert amongst extroverts, and the other way around. He has a passion for good reads and for good chats in pubs. György Péchy is a producer and project manager at Etherfield Studio. He brings over 20 years of experience in IT, animation, cultural projects, and game development. His earlier work as a YouTube specialist brought valuable insight into digital media and audience engagement. As a Game Producer, he's dedicated to fostering collaboration and bringing creative visions to life. About B-17 Flying Fortress: The Bloody 100th Board Game Edition, from BoardGameGeek:

B-17 Flying Fortress: The Bloody 100th Board Game Edition invites you to step into the boots of a WWII bomber crew, managing every facet of a harrowing mission deep into enemy-controlled Europe. This cooperative board game tests tactical mettle and communication under fire as you: Survive the onslaught: Endure intense flak bombardments, outmaneuver Luftwaffe fighters, and manage critical aircraft damage. Coordinate critical roles: Pilot, bombardier, gunner-every crew member's task is vital to keep your Fortress flying strong. Balance resources: Carefully manage fuel, emergency kits, repairs, and morale as you stare down impossible odds. Lead escort squadrons: Command protective fighters as they shield your crew from enemy interceptions. Work as a team or crumble in chaos: Communication is your lifeline; the mission hangs by threads of teamwork and strategy. Every mission throws fresh challenges and tests your limits. Will you return as war heroes-or fall in flames? -description from the publisher GAMEPLAY The game is designed for 1–4 players, with a strong solo experience that mirrors the intensity and immersion of classic MicroProse flight sims. Cooperative play lets multiple players take on different crew roles aboard the same aircraft. A typical mission lasts 2-4 hours, depending on player count and how deep you go into mission planning and combat detail. A full campaign can span multiple sessions as your crew gains experience, faces tougher missions, and (hopefully) makes it home. RULEBOOK You can read the latest rulebook draft here: https://www.microprose.com/downloads/manuals/100th-board/b-17-flying-fortress-bloody-100th-rulebook_v081.pdf RELEASE There are currently no plans for a retail release. B-17 Flying Fortress: The Bloody 100th Board Game Edition is being developed as a Kickstarter-exclusive project, and backers will have the first and possibly only opportunity to secure a copy during this campaign. Fulfilment is scheduled for May 2026. GAME DESIGNER The B-17 Flying Fortress: The Bloody 100th Board Game edition was designed by Etherfield in partnership with MicroProse. It is fully supported and endorsed by the 100th Bomb Group Foundation.
