Animal Rescue Team 5 Reason

Description provided by BoxedMeeples on YouTube:

Ever wonder how a casual father-daughter chat can lead to a re-imagining of a beloved board game? At Essen 2025, we sat down with designer Matt Leacock and Play to Z President Zev Shlasinger to uncover the surprising inspirations behind Animal Rescue Team — a co-op adventure packed with toy cars, real-world rescue expertise, and heart-pounding missions. Leacock teamed up with real-life animal rescuer Lisa Towell to make every scenario feel authentic — and it shows. Floods, fires, earthquakes, collapsing buildings… players race against time, deploying specialists and vehicles to save everything from kittens in the rubble to cows swept up in rushing rivers. With echoes of Pandemic and Thunderbirds, every mission forces you to juggle risk, resources, and teamwork. Complete three rescues before time runs out, and you win — but the clock is always ticking. If you want a fun behind-the-scenes look at how one of Essen Spiel's most exciting co-op games came to life, then this is the developer chat for you.
