About Roll N' Pin: The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Game for the Whole Family, from BoardGameGeek:
Roll 'n' Pin' is an engaging 2-player tabletop game that simulates Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions. Players assume the roles of skilled BJJ competitors, aiming to defeat their opponent either by achieving a "submission" or accumulating more points during the 10-minute match.
The game incorporates a combination of cards and dice, employing a straightforward war-style mechanic with a rock-paper-scissors system. This design choice ensures easy accessibility for players while allowing for strategic depth. To secure victory, players must defeat their opponent's cards, claim them, and add them to their own "submission" collection. The player who successfully gathers all the required cards for their submission emerges as the winner. Alternatively, players can opt to accumulate points cards to pursue victory through points.
Adding to the excitement, Roll 'n' Pin introduces "VAI!" cards, which serve as action cards. These cards offer players opportunities to bolster their strategies or make it more challenging for their opponent to achieve success.
The game thoughtfully incorporates various design details that create a strong connection to the theme of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while providing an avenue for players to learn about the martial art. Notably, the point system utilized in the game closely mirrors the scoring systems employed in actual BJJ tournaments.
Overall, Roll 'n' Pin offers an immersive and cohesive gaming experience, merging the world of BJJ with dynamic gameplay mechanics and thematic elements that educate and entertain players.
