Watch “1991 Electronic DreamPhone from Tricycle Vintage,” a board game review for Electronic Dream Phone from Tami Rotchford on BoardGameVideo.
Description provided by Tami Rotchford on YouTube:
A demo of the phone unit that is part of the Electronic Dream Phone game offered for sale by the Tricycle Vintage shop on Etsy.
This phone has 4 game specific buttons that are demonstrated here: The NEW GAME button is the lower most on the unit. The loud dial tone indicates that you may begin the game by entering a phone number from one of the Photo cards. The boy called will then tell you a clue about the secret admirer. Everyone will hear the first part of his message but only you will hear the clue at the end (that's the muted sound you will hear on this recording). The button on the lower left is REDIAL, it allows you to replay a clue that you may have missed. The lower center button is SPEAKER, during the game, everyone could be directed to hear the same clue. When this happens, listen for the dial tone and then press the SPEAKER button before you dial a boy's number. His entire clue will then be heard by all. When you are ready to guess who the secret admirer is, listen for the dial tone, then press the GUESS button (lower right) and dial the phone number of the boy you think it is. He'll tell you (and everyone else) if you're right or not.
This demo also contains a Surprise Caller call. During the game, the phone will ring without having made a call. The girl on the line will then tell everyone a special clue. This cannot be redialed. The phone has an automatic shut-off feature, if no buttons are pressed for 5 minutes, it will automatically shut off and the game is over. This has been tested and works. The phone is in great shape, is very clean, has great sound quality, and appears to work perfectly!
