Flames Across the Valley 1780 is a reworking of the game that was first released in 1993 by Chatham Hill games and Ron Toelke. The new 2026 version is a totally new update, using a six sided die and the spinner is gone. Updated map and counters and rules. Game play consists of a point to point system as the British player must move thru the valley as fast as possible but also burning homesteads and forts along the way. As each game is totally different by the selection of homesteads and militia placed secretly before the start of the game the British player never knows how well defended the valley will be! Best part we kept the in-depth historical report of the raid and the biographies of the key figures for both sides. This is a perfect solo game as taking control of the British raid. There is the ability to have a militia player deciding when to venture out with the militia or stay safe in the forts! Flames Along the Valley recreates the raid on the Schoharie Valley in October,1780, by British forces under Sir John Johnson. Three forts guard the valley, places of refuge and defense. Can the forts be taken and destroyed, the defenders scattered? Will the militia and Continental troops stand fast against the enemies of liberty? Can the invaders be prevented from burning every barn and house in sight? Return to the cold and snowy day of October 17, 1780 to once more do battle. -description from the designer
