A tactical strategic boardgame involving tipping pyramids to beat your opponent. Tetraedergame is a 3D abstract strategic duel for two players, designed by Rob Mulderij. In this tactical showdown, players control 9 tetrahedral (pyramid-shaped) pieces on a diamond-shaped checkered board, with the ultimate goal of completely dominating the opponent by either eliminating all their pieces or trapping them in a strategic blockade. Each tetrahedron features a specific arrangement of dots (1 to 4) on its faces. The core movement mechanic relies on the current state of the piece: the number of dots showing on the top face at the start of a turn dictates the exact number of spaces the piece must tip over the edges of the triangular grid. A 3-dot piece must tip exactly 3 times, while a 4-dot piece must tip exactly 4 times. Players face tight tactical constraints, as they cannot jump over other pieces or backtrack onto a triangle they just visited during that turn. Combat is resolved through proximity and a unique face-to-face showdown. Instead of landing directly on an opponent, a player initiates an attack by ending their movement exactly adjacent to an enemy piece. The players then compare the number of dots on the top faces of the confronting pyramids. The attacker captures the enemy piece if their top face has an equal or higher value than the defender's. Because ties are awarded to the attacker, offensive maneuvers are highly rewarded. In a high-stakes move, if a piece lands directly between two opposing pieces, both combat actions are triggered and resolved simultaneously, allowing for a devastating double capture. -description from the designer
