One Page Quest

One Page Quest

From BoardGameGeek

One Page Quest is a solo fantasy roguelike Print & Play game in which an entire adventure fits on a single black-and-white sheet of paper. All you need is five six-sided dice and a pencil to embark on a 45-minute adventure. Each adventure takes place over three acts, with increasingly powerful enemies and a Boss to defeat at the end of each act. During combat, players roll and reroll their dice to form combinations inspired by Yahtzee, such as Pairs, Three of a Kind, Full Houses, and more. Dice faces and combinations generate Strength, Accuracy, and Gold, allowing players to overcome enemies and develop their hero. Throughout the adventure, players visit merchants, purchase equipment, permanently improve their dice faces and combinations, and build powerful synergies. Every decision contributes to shaping a unique character build, with the ultimate goal of defeating the final Boss. The game's defining feature is OnePageQuest.com, an online adventure generator that creates new printable adventures by combining different Heroes, Bosses, Chests, and equipment. The game features 50 Heroes, 36 Bosses, 66 Chests, and 110 pieces of equipment, offering an enormous variety of possible adventures. Inspired by the progression systems of video game roguelikes, players initially have access to only a small portion of this content. Each successful adventure unlocks new Heroes, Bosses, Chests, and equipment, gradually expanding the possibilities available in future runs. The generator also features four difficulty levels, player statistics, adventure history, and a unique seed system that allows players to share and replay identical adventures. Despite this extensive content and progression system, every adventure remains entirely playable on a single printed sheet, with just five dice and a pencil. -description from the designer
