TuneMemory

2026·Jonathan Beaupre

3 - 99 players
30 - 75 min

From BoardGameGeek

TuneMemory is a bilingual hybrid party game with a living difficulty system. Every answer you give, and every answer given by players anywhere in the world, shapes how the game behaves for everyone else. The companion app recalibrates each card every five minutes based on global performance: questions that get solved too easily start offering smaller bonuses, while questions that stump the community grow harder and reward more. You're not just playing TuneMemory tonight, you're tuning it for tomorrow's players, and they're tuning it for you. No other board game evolves with its entire community in real time. At the center of it all looms the Master of Frequencies: a grumpy, theatrical entity trapped in a vintage radio who has stopped believing in human cultural memory. He thinks you've forgotten everything ; every iconic line, every legendary moment, every voice that once mattered. Your mission is to prove him wrong. Free him from his radio, one correct answer at a time, and remind him that collective memory isn't dead yet. He won't make it easy, and he won't be kind about it. But deep down, he wants you to win. Each scan triggers an audio quote that players must attribute to the right CHARACTER! Not the actor, not the show, the character who actually says the line. Cards span ten pop-culture categories: movies, TV series, music, sport, politics, video games, quotes, proverbs, memes, and advertisements. Every clip is voiced by the Master himself, giving the entire game a unified narrative tone rather than a patchwork of source recordings. A configurable timer (20 to 60 seconds, 45s default) keeps the pressure on, and the last five seconds trigger an audio warning to make sure you feel it. The game offers four modes: Demo (2–6 players) is a free 3-question trial. Classic 1 Game Master (3+ players) puts a neutral referee in charge of scanning and answer validation. Classic 2 Captains (4+ players) splits scanning duties between two opposing leaders. Free-For-All (2–10 players) drops the team format entirely, with every player becoming Master for one card per round across 2 to 5 rounds. Two push-your-luck systems raise the stakes. Replica Tokens let your team punish the opposing side when they miss, costing them a point rather than transferring one. Double or Nothing is the Master's personal challenge: after a correct answer, he might asks you a follow-up question about the card. Accept and you risk the point you just earned for double; decline and keep what you have, knowing the Master will judge you silently. Random Chaos Mode events can also distort the next two turns of audio with glitch, echo, reverb, or altered playback speed the radio's frequencies bleeding into your game. The first team to reach the target score (3 in Demo, 10 in Classic) frees the Master of Frequencies and wins. Plays in 15 to 90 minutes depending on mode, player count, and difficulty. -description from the publisher
