The End came from the Sky. A star of fire split the heavens and shattered the Earth. Smoke blotted out of the Sun. Forests withered, seas boiled, and the great herds thinned to shadows. Now every day is hunger. Where once the plains shook beneath countless preys, only scattered carcasses remain. Predators who once ruled alone now clash fang-to-fang , claw-to-claw, over the same dying quarry. There is no balance. No order. Only the last war of scale and bone. Eat First, Die Last CARNIVORE is a cataclysmic dinosaur skirmish game where predators battle for survival in the shadow of extinction. Built on a fast, visceral D10 system, it delivers combat that is tactically deep but accessible-easy to learn, brutal to master. Unlike other skirmish games, players compete over prey driven by instinct rules-objectives that move, react, and fight back. Designed with a commitment to paleo-accuracy, every miniature and mechanic reinforces the raw, prehistoric struggle. With high-quality miniatures and a boutique, art-driven rulebook, CARNIVORE is as immersive on the table as it is on the page. Standard games of CARNIVORE are small tabletop skirmish games played head to head, with two players guiding packs of predatory dinosaurs competing to hunt the same herd of prey. Players can also play solo, as the herbivore Instinct system functions as intended whether prey are hunted by one pack or many. An extinction-level meteor has collided with prehistoric Earth, filling the atmosphere with a dark shroud that blots out the sunlight and kills the plants herbivores depend on. Beneath the looming dust, carnivores are forced to clash fang and claw over the same dying quarry. You will strike at rivals and prey alike, struggling to outlast extinction itself, using tooth, claw, and sheer mass to win the fight. A carcass feeds only the victor. Stake your claim. Ensure you die last. Choose a predator and accept the way it hunts. Will you wield the crushing presence of Spinosaurus, rely on the relentless pursuit of Allosaurus, or flood the field with Velociraptors racing to feed first? Gameplay: A turn of Carnivore is divided into: Drive phase, Movement phase, Fight phase, Panic phase. Each builds tension but everything culminates in the Fight. Position matters. Every attack has consequences. -description from the publisher
